Criccieth Town Council Community Planning Support
This dynamic council has a number of aspirations for their town, both to improve the visitor experience, on which the town relies, and also to meet the needs identified by individuals and community groups.
The council has a small reserve which it can spend on what are identified as the key projects, but many of the improvements will rely on other sources of funding and advice due to their scale and complexity.
A plan had been drafted of the potential projects and Cerys worked with the council to understand the challenges, prioritise the opportunities and identify potential sources of support, both practical and financial, for each of the proposed projects which ranged from large capital projects on land not owned by the council, to small community projects on buildings owned by community groups. In addition, advice was given on the most beneficial mechanisms for engaging local people on projects that affect their lives.
The Council will use the report produced to prioritise its own next steps and support community groups to achieve the outcomes they have identified.
