Evaluation of Monmouthshire Food Works Project

In 2011 R4C was asked by Adventa to evaluate its innovative local food project as part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s Supply Chain Efficiency Scheme, working with partners and local food specialists f3.

The Supply Chain Efficiency Scheme is funded through the Axis 1 Rural Development Plan for Wales: Improving the competitiveness of the agricultural and forestry sectors.

The contract involves three work packages:

  1. The development of a monitoring and reporting system compatible with Rural Development Plan outputs and the EU Common Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (CMEF).
  2. A process evaluation to evaluate project implementation processes, and progress against outputs.
  3. An outcomes evaluation to evaluate the outcomes of the project, identify any unintended consequences and identify options for continuing the project beyond its current funding period.

The evaluation is ongoing and we are working with project staff, key stakeholders such as partner organisations, and beneficiaries and is running alongside the evaluation of the Welsh Perry and Cider Society, as many of the stakeholders and beneficiaries overlap.
