Green Community Energy
in 2011 We were asked to review and update the business plan for this community energy CIC, whose purpose is bringing the benefits of renewables to local communities and householders without the personal resources to invest in renewable energy. We took a hard look at all the opportunities for renewable energy installation, in the context of government and other programmes such as Green Deal and Renewable Heat Incentive, with assessments and financial forecasts for each.
Our assessment through a ‘routes to decision-making’ template showed which potential technologies and financial programmes could be the basis of a sustainable community business,
In the rapidly changing and uncertain world of renewable energy, we helped to nail down opportunities where the numbers stack up and work best for the South Wales communities where GCEL consortium directors are rooted.
