Explaining the Naze Evaluation

'Explaining the Naze' is an HLF funded education and engagement project based at the new Essex Wildlife Trust visitor centre on the Naze.

Mike is very pleased to have won the contract to evaluate this project as it will take him back to a landscape that he knew as a child: Walton-on-the-Naze, the Walton Backwaters, Hamford Water; remembering great places for fossil hunting, sailing and birdwatching.

The first stage of the evaluation process has been to undertake an 'Evaluation Readiness Review' to determine if the project is collecting the right data to show that they are having an impact and to learn from the whole process of running educational and engagement activities at an iconic site. The results of the Readiness Review will be used to devise an Evaluation Plan, where gaps identified can be filled by an R4C intervention.
