Ouse Washes 'OWLP' Evaluation

The Ouse Washes Landscape Partnership (OWLP) scheme is a Heritage Lottery Fund grant-aided scheme in the heart of the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Fens focusing on the distinctively rural, open and tranquil landscape surrounding the Ouse Washes and its unique heritage; One of the few such schemes currently in the East of England region.

The R4C team are supporting the final evaluation of the Scheme which has involved a range of stakeholders. So far we have attended a number of events, carried out interviews, supported legacy thinking and spent time in and around the project area.

The evaluation not only provides HLF with the information they require, but is also supporting the team in developing their legacy plans. This has been an extremely interesting project to engage with had the significant work of those involved is clearly evident.

We have been supported in our evaluation work by associate Pete Johnstone of PJ.elements

In 2015, as part of a Community Heritage award Pete undertook to photograph the ‘hidden’ people’ of the Ouse Washes landscape with the project culminating with an exhibition at the WWT Centre in Welney.
