'Selling the Wyre' Feasibility Study and Business Plan

In 2008, Resources for Change were back in the Wyre Forest to produce a feasibility and business plan for the area.

Following the submission of their ADP, the Wyre Forest Landscape Partnership Scheme was successful in gaining Heritage Lottery Fund Stage 1 funding. As part of the overall ‘Grow with Wyre Scheme’ 22 projects have been devised, one of which is ‘Selling the Wyre’.

We were asked to produce a feasibility study and business plan for establishing a Wyre Forest countryside range of products and holding specialist markets at Callow Hill visitor centre.

R4C, supported by the Green Wood Centre, carried out research with local businesses, partners and potential customers to establish the level of interest locally and gather information on types of product that were currently available. We also looked at examples of other successful initiatives around the country.

The plan was used as part of a submission to HLF to secure more funds for putting this and other planned projects in action, and in November 2008 we were delighted to hear from the Forestry Commission that they had just been awarded funds by HLF enabling them to commence delivery of the planned projects.
