During 2019 R4C collaborated with Scott B Sullivan Associates to create a 10 year Development Plan for the internationally renown Pinetum at Bedgebury. The Pinetum will have been in existence for 100 years in 2025 and this combined with the need to rebalance the focus of the site from the highly successful recreational offering back to the tree collection resulted in this assignment.
R4C took a co-production approach to creating the Development Plan, working closely with both our client, Forestry England and the Friends of Bedgebury, the volunteer support group. Through workshops, interviews and research R4C have been able to create a clear programme of infrastructure, audience, educational and volunteer projects that will create a firm foundation to take the Pinetum into its next 100 years.
