Introduction

David Beuzeval is the Director of David Beuzeval Associates Limited. David provides business development support to a diverse range of charities to enable them to increase their impact and financial resilience. Hi clients have included: A Way Out, Fresh Water Biological Association,  Growing Well, Hertfordshire Mind Network, National Flood Forum, Rural Action Derbyshire, Valley House and Ulverston Mind.

David is also part time Chief Officer of South Lakeland Mind, chair of Cumbria Actions for Sustainability, chair of the trading subsidiary of the National Flood and a trustee of Gatesbield Quaker Housing Trust

David previously established a landscape social enterprise for Groundwork, was the first Development Director at the Land Restoration Trust and established and led the national external funding team at the Environment Agency.

  • Developing organisational strategies – including leading organisational reviews, undertaking market assessments (including consultation and research), assessing new business models (including options appraisal), and preparing business plans (including financial modelling and risk assessment)
  • Create new partnerships (with other charities and public and private sector organisations) – including mapping current networks and developing new contacts through research, networking and the development and implementation of pilot projects
  • Increasing and diversifying income – including from trading (including creating new social enterprises), social finance (including community shares), grants (including European, Government, Lottery and Charitable Trusts), and fundraising (including appeals, events and donations)
  • Create new delivery mechanisms – establishing new charities, CICs, CIOs, Community Benefit Societies (including the conversion of existing organisations) to enable the delivery of new opportunities (including new trading companies and joint ventures)

Additionally David has experience of designing and delivering change programmes, developing and implementing communication and marketing strategies, acting as an interim project manager, and providing training and mentoring for trustees, staff and volunteers, to further enable charities to develop and deliver new business opportunities.
