Evaluating Nature Recovery – Martens on the Move
In 2022 R4C was commissioned to develop the Evaluation Framework for the Martens of the Move project on behalf of the Vincent Wildlife Trust (VWT). Using a mixture of habitat management, citizen science and public engagement this project is looking to create the right ecological and social conditions to encourage the spread of the Pine Marten into new areas in the Scottish and Welsh borders. The core component of the Evaluation Framework is a Theory of Change which was co-designed with the project team, around which we have developed a robust evaluation methodology and toolkit.
In November 2023 the National Lottery Heritage Fund agreed to fund the project and we are very pleased to have been appointed as the project evaluators, working closely with the team and project partners to ensure effective ongoing monitoring and then undertaking both the interim and final evaluations.
