Working with NEF consulting on behalf of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, R4C were commissioned to evaluate this UK wide community wildflower and fungus growing projects (https://www.growwilduk.com/), funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The focus of R4C’s role was the qualitative evaluation of the impact of wildflower growing on community and youth groups. This was delivered by training up the Grow Wild staff to use the Most Significant Difference methodology with groups of community representatives and young people.

The results showed that the simple act of being involved in wildflower growing brought considerable benefits to groups and individuals, particularly in respect to community cohesion and a strengthening of local pride.
