Kevin is an experienced evaluator and researcher, specialising in community-based approaches to household energy demand and energy poverty, and climate, flood, heatwave and community resilience.
With a PhD in geography and environment from London School of Economics, Kevin is an experienced evaluator and researcher. Kevin specialises in evaluations of community-based approaches to climate resilience, household energy, energy poverty, flood resilience, heatwave resilience and community resilience.

Kevin has been working with R4C as a Senior Consultant since 2015. In addition, he has held senior research and evaluation posts at London School of Economics, University of Birmingham, Kingston University and University of Westminster.
Kevin has worked on projects funded by Economic and Social Research Council, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Defra, Environment Agency, EU Horizon 2020 and the forerunners of Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
Kevin is the author of more than 30 academic papers and reports for policy and practice. Kevin’s concept of energy know how has been used in DESNZ and its forerunners’ work on energy efficiency since 2015.
Kevin is a member of Totnes Energy Local: his electricity comes from local hydro(!) and is currently going through the UK HUG2 process for low carbon retrofit. Kevin sometimes offers basic evaluation services to small local groups as a volunteer. He has experience of facilitating workshops to support the wellbeing of people who have children with disabilities. Kevin enjoys walking, singing, mindfulness and books/films/dramas.
